No less than 15 Windscale juniors of all ages battled hard for honours at the Carlisle competition last weekend (January 7th), and the majority had a long day as they were involved in finals and play-offs right to the end.

Wigton Graded Competition Day 2 results

Four of Windscales juniors were in action today, in the girls under 11 event which saw 3 of our girls in action, and in the mixed under 13 event we had one representative. Following yesterdays successes where we had a Main competition runner-up and a Plate final winner the pressure was on to perform.

Wigton Graded Competition Day 1 results

This weekend, December 3rd/4th, sees the Wigton Graded Competition take place, and it gives a chance for the very beginners to competitive squash the opportunity to play against similar ability players, thereby minimising the chances of heavy losses in early rounds which does more to discourage bright young prospects than to show them how rewarding competitive squash can be. Oliver and Thomas Bragg, along with Timothy Outhwaite are three such players only starting out on their squash carreers, and this competition had something for all of them.
