Cup Semi Final: Wigton B 4 Vs Windscale B 1

Playing probably the strongest team still in the competition Windscale B were no match for Wigton B.

Opening for Windscale the evergreen Mike Jenkins was to record 'Scales'only win of the evening beating young Lewis Jarman 9-5, 9-1, 9-2. With an age and experience difference of about 30 years Jenks proved too strong for the Wigton youngster.

Vic Williamson rallied after losing his opening game 9-1, but was still not up to the task losing 9-5, 9-6 to Wigton's Phil Graham.

Ged Jackson was far to good for 'Scales' John Banks winning 9-1,9-6, 9-0. 'Banksy' who has put in some sterling performances this season battled gamely to no avail.

Andy McCreadie sealed it for Wigton beating 'Scales' Dave Lacey 9-0, 9-4, 9-3 in what may be Dave's last game for Scales due to work commitments. Having played several seasons for 'Scales' and been part of the promotion winning team last season, Dave will be sorely missed.

Steve Murdock completed the job with a 9-1,9-4, 9-5 defeat of James Thompson. This was a baptism of fire for young James having just been promoted to the number 1 slot, playing probably the strongest number 1 in the division.

PS Congratulations to Colin Roberts and Steve Walker both making comebacks to Windscale A and both winning against Whitehaven's Amie Cronin and Nigel Stewart respectively.
