This was an excellent win for Windscale against a full strength Moota.

On 1^st for Windscale and making his debut in county league squash was Victor Williamson, his opponent Mike Scott. Playing like an old pro, 'Ice cool' Vic made short work of his opponent winning 9-1, 9-4, 9-1.

Mike Jenkins made it 2 in a row for Windscale beating David Young 9-6, 9-7, 9-4. This was a more balanced encounter that could have gone either way. It was a good win for Mike against a very experienced player.

Brenda Gibson pulled one back for Moota beating Jeff Smith 9-1, 9-2, 10-8. Probably one of the top lady players in the county, Brenda played drop after drop after drop, all to devastating effect. As can be seen from the scores Jeff made a spirited fight back in the 3^rd game but Brenda ran out a worthy winner.

Brenda's husband John was next on court, his opponent 'Nifty at Fifty' Jim Irving. Jim took the 1^st 2 games 9-1, 9-6 as John struggled to keep the ball in play. Fortunes changed however as John got control of his wayward shots, squaring the game with a 9-7, 9-1 fight back. Having made good use of Windscale's new squash club Gym in the close season, Jim's fitness enabled him to re-assert himself, winning the 5^th game 9-3 securing the points for Windscale.

The final game of the evening was won by Moota evergreen Ron Harris, who beat Dave Jackman 7-9, 10-8, 9-3, 9-7. ' Jacko' made an excellent start winning the 1^st and coming close in the 2^nd, but in the end succumbed to the class of the Moota number 1.
