Windscale B 18 v Moota 5

This was 'Scales' first real test after the Christmas break. Both teams are in the top 3 of the division, and chasing the title.

Victor Williamson was first on for the home team and had a resounding 9-2, 9-5, 9-2 win against Mike Scott. In this, his first full season of county league squash Vic is proving very reliable, even against much more experienced players.

Mike Jenkins made it two in a row for 'Scales' beating Moota stalwart David Young 9-7, 9-2, 9-3. Mike also in his first season of county league squash is currently unbeaten and proving a very strong close season signing.

Dave Jackman sealed the victory for 'Scales' with a 9-5, 3-9, 9-3, 9-3 win over John Gibson. 'Jacko' has struggled to find his best form since the Christmas break, but once he got his serves and boasts working, 'Gibby' was always on the back foot.

John Banks started well with a 9-2 win, but was out played overall losing to Moota guest player John Walling 2-9, 6-9, 6-9. 'Banksy' gave a good account of himself against a very good player despite losing.

Martin Blair making only his second appearance for 'Scales', had a hard fought encounter with the evergreen Ronny Harris. This was a technician verses a runner. Ron was the technician playing the shots that kept Martin on the move. Martin was the runner, and run he did, chasing everything down he won the final game of the evening 9-6, 6-9, 9-5, 9-5. On this sort of form he is first team material, and will surely get the call.
