Just the start to the season. Windscale needed. Fielding two close season signing's, a strengthened Windscale were easy winners. First on for the home team was new signing Mike Jenkins playing Cockermouth's Bruce Avery. Mike was far too strong, playing a wide range of shot's he dominated from the start,winning 9-4, 9-1, 9-0. On this showing a move up the order may be necessary.

Jeff Smith made it two in a row for Windscale beating Cockermouth's John Nixon 9-1,10-8,4-9,9-3.Jeff was made to re focus in the middle games as the big hitting game of John started to have an effect.

Jim Irving(still 50 still nifty)then sealed the match for Windscale beating Joe Aitchison 9-1, 9-6, 10-9. Having been made to cover every inch of the court in the two preceding games, Joe led for most of the third game but the Windscale man's fitness became the deciding factor.

In a well contested match Steve Irlam made Dave Jackman work hard for his win. 'Jacko' " made it four in a row for Windscale with a 10-8, 9-3, 9-6 result.

Completing the job, Windscale's other new boy Dave Lacey completely out classed Steve Jones winning 9-3, 9-2, 9-0.

Next weeks encounter away to Moota will be a much stiffer test for Windscale, particularly so, as three of the squad are unavailable. Replacements have been identified, one in particular we are very exited about.
