County Junior Squash Competition

This years County Squash competition was held at three venues due to the Carlisle club still being out of action due to the January flooding. Preliminary rounds were held at Whitehaven and Workington to produce all the finalists, for the Sunday at Windscales Squash Club. Players from all over the county participated and enjoyed the excellent facilities on offer, and had an enjoyable day.

Three Windscale players won their age-group competition with a further being runner-up. Not making it through to the finals day were Hannah Crichton, Courtney Musson, and Ryan Doran who all played well in the heats, but couldn't qualify for Sunday.

At U.19 level Tessa Barratt, was the runner-up in the girls Competition and her brother Liam Barratt was the champion at U.17 level. In the girls U.11 final, Jessica Winder beat the Wigton left hander Katie Penrice, and in the same age group for the boys, Adam Telfer beat Jonathan Christian to become champion.
