At the recently held Squash competition, Windscale provided the winners at both of the Under 15 age group categories, Boys and Girls.

In the boys section Owen Barrett overcame a competitive James Worsick, in the first round 3 games to 2, in what would have been a great Final match. Having to apply himself for the full 5 games, playing steady squash, with good retrieving, he triumphed to progress to the next round. An Easier encounter in the next round saw him through to the final against Freddie Simpson-Cassidy.

Freddie had a torrid encounter in his semi-final, only just overcoming Mitchell Parr in 5, to progress, however his fitness for the final was somewhat compromised. Owen started well in the final and was soon 1 game up, with forceful squash,

out-manoeuvring his more tired opponent. The second and third games were very much anti-climatic as Freddie's reserves were drained, and with steady virtually error free squash, Owen triumphed 3-0.

In the girls, Hannah Crichton won the round robin event with a bit to spare. Her first match against Louisa Mc Gregor was fairly short in duration as Hannah served relentlessly onto the sidewalls, giving her opponent nothing to return, and when she did, Hannah volleyed early to cut off the rallies. She won 3 games to nil.

Her final match was thought to be a much tougher encounter against the home favourite Sarah Frain, however Hannah's good form didn't desert her and again she triumphed 3-0. The match was a shade closer than the score line suggests, however the result was never in doubt, as Hannah played the game with plenty of pace, and well disguised shots to relentlessly out-position her opponent.

Other Windscale entries on the day were, Adam Pearson, Jackson Holliday, Jack Taylor, Ross Singleton, Michael Hobbs, Megan Singleton, Melissa Bewsher and Bethany Bewsher. All acquitted themselves well throughout their games and were again a credit to the Windscale Squash Club.
