Zachary Singleton aged 9 and James Penn aged 7, both played in the recent Wigton Graded competition, their first ever, hence the reason they sneaked in under the radar in my previous reports.

Zachary played in the Boys under 11 'C' group and was up against two of his Windscale 'club-mates', he beat James Penn 2-0 and followed it up with a 2-0 win over Oliver Bragg. He then beat Jack Pigg 2-1 to set up a decider against Christopher Butler who was also unbeaten, alas he couldn't keep his unbeaten status and lost 0-2, however he had a chance for revenge in the final play-off against Christopher but lost that 0-2 also to finish as the main Final runner-up, and 2nd position overall. Congratulations, a good competition debut.

James also played in the junior boys under 11 'C' group, with the following results, he beat 'club-mate' Oliver Bragg 2-1, but then lost to 'club-mate' Zachary Singleton 0-2. Another loss to Christopher Butler 0-2, and Jack Pigg 0-2 meant that he qualified for the Plate Final in his group, where he again played Jack Pigg and lost 0-2, to finish 4th overall. Well done James.

He was accompanied by his little brother Harry aged 5, who is also part of the up and coming junior group at the club, and both of them as well as Zachary look forward to more competitions over this season, and many to come.
