Mark Winder has now been cleared by England Squash as an official County Grade referee, and is being assessed towards his 'T' Grade.

Following lot's of practice refereeing local and club matches, Mark has made the big leap forward to gain official England Squash Referee and Marking recognition through his efforts at national sanctioned competitions. Over the last few months, following his passing the provisional referee exam in April 2010, he has referreed at many of the more high pressure competitions, including the Chapel Allerton Silver Competition, and the English Junior Championships recently at Surrey.

Mark approached the tournament referree at both to offer his services to be assessed and was given some high profile boys under 17 matches to test him out. With these matches taking over 1 hour to complete his patience as well as his knowledge and interpretation was severely tested, but he came through that with flying colours, as well as the 20 minute debrief afterwards! Following on from that more requests from the referees co-ordinator to mark games meant that overall Mark has now been assessed after 13 matches and has received his qualification as an England Squash County Grade referee.

Mark is now firmly involved with the officiating at competitions, both squash and racketball, and his assistance has been requested already by England Squash for upcoming national competitions.
